Cache Valley Getaway

The kids had spring break this weekend, so we tried out Cache Valley Getaway and took a one night mini-vacation. It was a fun surprise for the kids and nice getaway for all of us. We stayed at the Crystal Inn in Logan. It provided all the entertainment the kids needed . . . a pool, an elevator, electric key cards, a hot chocolate machine, and cable TV. We swam for hours. Abby was pretty nervous about getting in the water. She hung out on the steps for most of the time, but by the time we left she had braved up and was swimming all over the pool in her little tube. After swimming, we spent the night flipping back and forth between Dirty Jobs and What Not to Wear. (We don’t have cable at home, so we love to catch our favorite shows when we go to hotels.) Saturday was filled with more swimming, an episode of MythBusters, and lunch at Firehouse. We had a great time. Quick trips are lots more fun/easy when you don’t have to pack diapers and a playpen and be up with a baby all night. I’m liking this stage of family life. If we could just eliminate all of the whining, it would be perfect. :)

I'm so glad you had fun! We flip between Food channel and History channel (with a bit of Nick Jr. and Disney) although we always check to see if Mythbusters is on since our whole family loves it too!

How fun! We must think alike - we are planning an overnighter to Logan this week for our kids Spring Break too! They don't know yet either, so it will be fun to surprise them. I just hope the weather cooperates with some of outdoor activities or we may just be swimming and watching tv too..... which wouldn't be that bad because we don't have cable either!

What a fun getaway! I don't know what it is, but I love that picture of Ben!
Let me know if you ever figure out how to stop the whining. :)
