The Great Northwest Vacation- Day 1- Drive to Seattle

Our drive to Washington was thankfully mostly uneventful.  In the deal of the day, we scored six bacon egg and cheese biscuit sandwiches for $6 at Carl's Jr in Heyburn, Idaho.  We stopped to take a picture at the Oregon sign, but Washington was less welcoming, with a sign in the middle of a mile long bridge with no shoulder, so we decided to try to take a photo when we were leaving Washington a week later.

Since we were able to get to Seattle early enough, we decided to head to the Space Needle that night instead of trying to do it after getting off the cruise a week later.  Here are the kids waiting in line to ride the elevator with Sarah.

We lucked out and were in Seattle on a remarkably clear night.  The kids enjoyed looking out over the city with their monoculars we bought specially for this trip.

Ben was particularly impressive, finding the Seattle Temple way off in the distance (which was really hard to see even using the monoculars).  This is what it really looked like (starting wide and then using our camera's super zoom).  Crazy kid!

We stayed up top past dusk so we could see the sunset and the city at night. Here we are just after sunset with Sarah doing a little photobombing.
