Abby turned three on Tuesday. She has been looking forward to her birthday for a long time. Whenever anyone would ask her how old she was going to be, her answer was “a big girl.” She finally figured out how to hold up three fingers (really two fingers and a thumb) last week. Her only birthday request was a Cinderella cake. She spent the afternoon watching a movie while I made the cake. It was my first time using fondant. It was kind of fun and it turned better than I was expecting (except for really ugly seams). My kids were super impressed and gave me all kinds of compliments about how smooth and pretty it was and how it looked like craft foam.
Abby patiently waited until Nate was home from work and Ben and Emily were home from piano lessons before she opened her presents. Her favorite was a new tea set. She has played with it non-stop ever since. After gifts, we took the kids to McDonald's for dinner (Abby’s choice) and let them play for a full hour in the playland. Then it was home for cake and ice cream and watching Cinderella II. Nothing too exciting, but Abby thought it was a perfect day.

Abby's hair is getting so long and she is so big now. When I first saw her cake, I thought it was just a Barbie - great job!
Okay you are too cool! Olivia loved the cake and couldn't believe it was a cake!
